Global Traveler Announces Reader Survey Award Winners

Yardley, PA (PRWEB) December 1, 2009 -- For the sixth year, Global Traveler readers have spoken, and the results are in! More than 25,000 people responded to the magazine's annual survey. This year, Global Traveler's distinguished readers recognized airlines, hotels, loyalty programs and travel-related products in 60 categories. The results of the survey will be announced in the December 2009 issue.

GT readers are frequent premium travelers who average 32 round-trip flights a year, with 96 percent traveling in first or business class regularly.

This year's roster of highly regarded winners includes Singapore Airlines (Best Airline in the World), British Airways (Best Airline for Business Class) and Lufthansa (Best Trans-Atlantic Airline). Other top winners are Etihad (Best Airline in the Middle East), Asiana Airlines (Best Airline in North Asia), Air China (Best Airline in China), Park Hyatt (Best International Hotel Chain), Spain (Best International Tourism Destination), AT&T Wireless (Best Wireless Service in the World) and American Express Membership Rewards (Best Credit Card Rewards Program).

Global Traveler is celebrating the sixth anniversary of the GT Tested Reader Survey Awards. Our consistent, unbiased reporting has placed the awards among the most highly regarded in the industry. About the Survey

Global Traveler conducted an open-ended survey of its readers to determine the best in 60 travel-related categories. The survey was conducted from Jan. 1, 2009, to Aug. 1, 2009. Questionnaires were available in subscriber copies of the magazine, online at www.globaltravelerusa.com/survey and through direct mail and email. Only questionnaires with more than 50 percent of the questions answered were considered. An outside accounting firm, Citrin, Cooperman LLP, tabulated the results. Employees of the magazine and members of the travel industry were barred from participation. A total of 25,951 responses were received.
